Referral Process
To begin occupational therapy or speech therapy services, parents and caregivers take an important first step by requesting a physician referral for their child. The referral should specifically state “Occupational Therapy to evaluate and treat” or “Speech Therapy to evaluate and treat” at Occupational Therapy Services Inc. (OTS Inc.). All referrals must include a medical diagnosis or ICD-10 code related to the child’s therapy needs.
Your child’s physician will usually send the referral directly to OTS Inc. by fax. If the referral is given to you instead, you are welcome to deliver it to our clinic—we are happy to support you through that process.
Once we receive the referral, the OTS Inc. team will partner with you to:
• Confirm the referral details
• Verify insurance information
• Schedule your child’s evaluation and subsequent visits at a time that works for your family
